Follow the steps below to enable the fast user switching in windows 10.

Method 1  Using Local group policy editor

  • Open run by pressing windows key and R and type the following keyword and hit enter.

  • Now the local group policy edit window will open.
  • In the left pane select local computer policy then computer configuration then administrative templates then system under that logon.
  • Now the files under that will open in the right panel. Open “hide entry points for fast user switching” policy, go to the properties tab.
  • Now select the option accordingly, whether you want to enable or disable it.
  • Now restart your computer and the fast user switching option will be enabled and you can use it.

Method 2 – Using Registry

  • Open run by pressing windows key and R and type the following keyword and hit enter.
  • Phrase to enter: regedit
  • Now the registry editor window will open.
  • In the left pane go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version then to Policies and select System and the files under that will open in the right pane.
  • Right click on the file name “Hide fast user switching” and set new dword value to 1 if you want to disable the option or 0 if you want to enable the option.
  • Now restart your computer and the fast user switching option will be enabled and you can use it.
